35th Infantry Division Museum

35idThe Museum of the Kansas National Guard is also home to the 35th Division Museum, which includes the 35th Division Hall of Fame. The 35th Infantry Division was formed in 1917 for WWI, and received three battle streamers for battles in France–Ardennes, Alsace, and Meuse-Argonne. It was mobilized in 1940 for WWII and received five additional battle streamers for distinguished service in Europe–Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe.

The Divisional Headquarters has mobilized multiple times since World War Two, including service in the Balkans, supporting the Hurricane Katrina recovery, and in Kuwait in 2017-2018 and again in 2021-2022.

This truly remarkable display houses unique and one-of-a-kind artifacts from WWI and WWII including the Nun’s Flag; an American flag created by Nuns from Hamelin, Germany using old Nazi banners during WWII.
